Alumni
Real stories from TechTalk alumni.
No marketing gloss. These are the words of students who finished the programme and went on to first engineering jobs across South Africa and beyond.
Apply to your first cohort"I started TechTalk thinking I'd never be 'real engineer' material. Twelve weeks later I was opening PRs that senior engineers were merging. The shift was less about skills and more about confidence — and AI mentorship was the unlock."
LMLerato M.
Junior Frontend Engineer at a Cape Town fintech
Professional Track · Cohort 2025
"I came in barely understanding Git. I left with three production features under my name and a job offer two weeks before Demo Day. The mentorship felt personal in a way nothing else in my degree did."
TNTshepiso N.
Junior Full-Stack Engineer at a logistics scale-up
Foundation → Professional · Cohorts 2024–2025
"Honours Track was harder than my actual honours year. The capstone project taught me how to lead a small team, defend technical decisions, and ship something real. I got hired into a role that normally requires two years of experience."
KDKhaya D.
Software Engineer at a global bank
Honours Track · Cohort 2025
"I was a humanities student doing a CS minor. TechTalk was the only place that didn't make me feel like an impostor. Two years later I'm leading a team of three, and I credit my mentor for half of that."
AJAaliyah J.
Junior Backend Engineer at an insurtech
Professional Track · Cohort 2024
"I went through every track. Each one met me exactly where I was and pushed me past where I thought I could go. The community is genuinely the closest thing I have to professional family."
SKSibusiso K.
Software Engineer at a global e-commerce company
Foundation → Professional → Honours · 2023–2025
