Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using TechTalk. They set out the rules of the road for everyone using the platform.
Last updated: September 14, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using TechTalk (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
TechTalk provides an AI-guided software internship and learning platform including courses, mentorship, project workspaces, community features, and related tools. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3. Accounts & eligibility
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher.
- One person per account. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate any law, infringe intellectual property, or harm others through the Service.
- Upload malware, attempt to bypass security controls, or probe our systems without permission.
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute course content, mentor sessions, or other paid material.
- Harass, dox, impersonate, or discriminate against other users, mentors, or staff.
- Use the Service to train competing AI models without our express written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Payments, subscriptions & refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance on the cadence shown at checkout. See our pricing page for current plans. You authorise us and our payment processor to charge your payment method for the amounts due. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Lifetime plans are one-time purchases and non-refundable except where required by law. Monthly plans may be cancelled at any time and will remain active through the end of the paid period.
Full details of how we handle charges, renewals, cancellations and refunds are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including course materials, code samples, designs, and trademarks, is owned by TechTalk or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal learning and, where applicable, internal business use. You retain ownership of the code and content you create, and grant us a licence to host and display it for the purpose of operating the Service.
7. Service availability & uptime disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any specific uptime target will be met. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, network issues, force majeure events, and unforeseen bugs may cause interruptions or data loss. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of any content you rely on.
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service running and to communicate significant incidents, but do not commit to any service-level agreement unless separately agreed in writing.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TECHTALK AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO TECHTALK IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded, such as for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold TechTalk harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if operating your account creates undue risk. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (payments owed, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and TechTalk submit to the jurisdiction of the courts sitting in the North West province, South Africa, unless the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
